A Great Piece of Architecture

The Danish Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010 is constructed as a double helix structure 12 metres high. It is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group to exhibit the culture of Copenhagen and it's main attractions. The Pavilion features two paths for viewing the interior and exterior, a pedestrian path and a bicycle path. Bicycles are a popular means of transport in Copenhagen and guests are given free bicycles to ride around. The white represents the sailing traditions of the city. The Little Mermaid Statue and baths inside the structure are a national icons of Denmark's harbours.
